Taylor Chip Cookie Co. Spotlight Interview:
What is important for someone to know about your business today?
Taylor Chip started with a passion for each other which turned into a passion for cookies! Several ingredients are locally sourced, all non-GMO, and free-range eggs.
What's your business story? How the business started and has come to this point?
When Dougie and Sara were dating, they baked cookies as something fun to do! The research, trial and error, and cookie eating took over a year to perfect the chocolate chip cookie. Once it was perfected, family and friends started ordering cookies! Then the Taylors got married and decided to make the perfected chocolate chip cookie into a small business. And by small business, it was really just 1 event per month. A few months later, in 2018, we were contacted about Lancaster Marketplace and thought it was a great opportunity. Two months later, we quit our jobs and made Taylor Chip our baby!!
What's the background story that got Taylor Chip to this point?
Dougie has always been interested in business and he started a few other small businesses before this. One of which is a recording studio, which has taught him a lot about entrepreneurship and creativity. Sara has worked in food service her whole working career and also has an associates degree in business. She loves people, building relationships and has a servant's heart!
Is there anything unique about Taylor Chips' background or products that you want to share?
It is the perfect cookie!! Dougie and Sara don’t have any real training or baking experience. They just really love cooking and baking together.
What else do you want to share about the business or your team?
In the future, they are looking forward to adding ice cream to the menu, doing a little bit of a rebrand, and adding more locations. Also, they are continually growing and will soon have their products in Whole Foods and Wegmans.
